About Us
We are a local association working in Italy to support the mission of NMWA – the National Museum of Women in the Arts by championing art by women past and present. Our mission is to promote the achievements of women artists of all periods in Italy and bolster knowledge and awareness of their art worldwide.

CONTRIBUTE
Time, passion, and constructive solutions to achieve gender parity in the arts by supporting Women to Watch
A special characteristic of the Italian Committee of NMWA is that, while we are active in Italy to promote women in the arts, the close link to NMWA offers international reach and a global physical presence. We embrace positive and sustained action to raise appreciation of women artists in Italy through Women to Watch and the other events we host during the year.
We are a dynamic group run entirely by passionate volunteers — many of whom have personal links to the museum and the United States — who have all manner of interests and expertise.
The committee is most active in Milan, the city where it was founded in 2004. Today, our volunteers organize guided tours of exhibitions, events with artists and art historians, cocktail receptions, and of course, most importantly, they spearhead the committee’s participation in the biannual Women to Watch exhibition.
There are NMWA outreach committees located throughout North America, Europe, South America, and Asia, all helping the museum to disseminate its message globally. The Italian Committee of NMWA is proud to support the museum and promote awareness and knowledge about women artists in our home country.
